I need some help trying to understand how RSS feeds work. I read a couple of postings in the forums here, but I am yet to find one that really breaks it down. Here's what I'd like to be able to do if it is possible.
Right now, I am using the custom url to my BC shop (http://bigcartelshop.mysite.com). What I would like to do is be able to add to my sites home page a small collection of my products (basically the newest additions) but I want to make sure that they link back to the custom URL and not the regular BC URL (http://bigcartelshop.bigcartel.com). I would like a thumbnail, the product name and price to appear. Is this possible? And if yes, is it possible for someone who doesn't get RSS feeds at all?
One time before, I used a feed reader for another site to pull in blog titles. That seemed simple enough because I just went with a setting in my account on the feed reader site. Didn't really understand it but I did it nonetheless.
Any suggestions would be great... Thank you -

You may have better luck using our JS or REST APIs. This will give you more specific info.

Hi - I'm having a problem - I'm using a feed reader as the above poster mentioned and there's a problem with the link structure so that if the reader clicks each item they error out - each link goes to
http://enso.bigcartel.comproduct/
rather than http://enso.bigcartel.com/product/
can I still use the RSS feed in this manner? -

http://enso.bigcartel.com/products.rss seems to be using the correct links. Is that the URL you're using? -

It is - and the feed shows up, but when the viewer clicks the link they're not taken to the product, instead there's this message:
Firefox can't find the server at enso.bigcartel.comproduct -

It might be something weird in your implementation then, if you view source on the feed URL you'll see it's passing the correct product URLs. -

Huh, thanks much. I'm trying to use it on a WP rss sidebar widget, I'll have to look closer into it. I appreciate you taking the time.
