   Mine turned up in the new stores but I realised I had submitted the wrong picture for it so I changed it. It's been a good few days now and my shop still hasn't reappeared in the directory or in the 'new' section of the directory. Should I have done something else besides upload the new picture?

   I think you should be able to search the directory by letter or actual shop name, not just scroll through lists of shops. The current method works for people who's store names start with a number, letter A or Z but for everyone in between it's a bit rubbish.

   It happens the instant you upload a graphic on the Store > Promote page. The directory is alphabetical by subdomain, so as you're hovering over each store you can see the subdomain they've used in the status bar.
